Our Legacy
The London College, UCK was officially established in 1975, building on the foundation of London Tutors—a private tuition centre founded in the mid-1950s by an expatriate teaching couple. Originally based in Coventry, London Tutors later expanded to Manchester and Letchworth, offering tailored support for 11-plus, GCE O-Level, and A-Level examinations.
In its early years, the College operated as an international student recruitment agency, forming strong links with well-known institutions such as David Game Tutorial College, Oxford Tutorial College, and Language Links.
By 1985, the College had expanded its academic offering from its Fulham campus and began a partnership with City University California, delivering a wide range of American undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. In 1998, the institution was formally incorporated and renamed The London College, UCK, gaining chartership in Iowa and later extending this to Louisiana and Alabama.
With the formation of the UK Border Agency in 2008, the College transitioned away from American programmes and focused on delivering British qualifications, including HNCs, HNDs, and Level 7 Postgraduate Diplomas validated by Ascentis.
A significant milestone came in 2013, when the College partnered with the University of Derby to deliver UK degree programmes. Since 2017, our campus in Cranford, West London has served as the home for a diverse and vibrant student community, continuing our long-standing commitment to quality higher education.
