I am currently studying for an HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, having successfully progressed from the HNC at The London College. My goal is to continue my academic journey by completing a top-up undergraduate degree here as well.

My interest in electrical engineering began during my teenage years, when I chose to study the subject at school and college. I’ve always enjoyed being hands-on and active, and electrical engineering allows me to combine practical work with technical problem-solving—something I’ve always found exciting and rewarding.

I work full-time in the construction industry, Monday to Friday, in a role that involves a variety of electrical installation tasks. This includes fitting distribution boards, fire alarms, lighting systems, and circuit breakers.

What I find most fascinating is that what I learn in the classroom often goes beyond what I encounter on site. For example, we use mathematics and technical analysis to solve complex engineering problems - skills that are typically handled by managers. Seeing how this advanced knowledge connects to real-world practice inspires me to work towards becoming one of those managers in the future.

To reach that goal, I plan to complete my undergraduate degree, and potentially progress to a postgraduate qualification. My ambition is to lead and manage a team within the engineering sector, using both my academic knowledge and practical experience to deliver successful projects.

I first heard about The London College from a colleague during a lunch break. When he told me he was studying electrical engineering while working full-time, I was amazed. He explained that the college offers flexible timetables that make it possible to balance work and study effectively. I knew right away that this was the right place for me.

The support from my tutors has been excellent. My teacher challenges me with complex problems, but always provides clear guidance to help me find the right solutions. Studying at The London College has truly been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my education and career.
