Course Overview

Civil engineers shape the world we live in. From the roads we travel and the bridges we cross to the clean water we drink and the power that lights our cities — their work makes modern life possible.

This course will give you a strong foundation in the technical design and management processes that define civil engineering. You’ll build essential skills in structures, fluids, geology, soil mechanics, surveying, and materials. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on projects, and site visits, you’ll gain real-world experience and the practical knowledge that employers value.

Our degree is fully accredited, satisfying the academic requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng). You can find out more at www.jbm.org.uk. With relevant professional experience and a successful review, you’ll be on the path to membership of leading professional bodies, including the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE), the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE), the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (MCIHT), and the Institute of Highway Engineers (MIHE).
