I am currently studying for an HNC in Civil Engineering, a subject I am truly passionate about. I have always enjoyed working with numbers and problem-solving, so pursuing a career in civil engineering feels like a natural path for me.

I chose to study this course at The London College because of its flexible evening classes, which allow me to balance my professional and academic commitments.

The lecturers are knowledgeable and genuinely dedicated to helping students succeed. I can see that they care deeply about our progress and want us to excel in the programme.

Alongside my studies, I work as a Survey Engineer, where I am responsible for setting out gridlines and contributing to a range of site projects. What I enjoy most about my role is the opportunity to apply the theories and concepts I learn in the classroom directly to real-world situations. For example, I have studied AutoCAD, a design software used to produce detailed drawings such as site plans and elevations for construction projects, and I regularly use these skills in my day-to-day work. It is extremely rewarding to see how the knowledge I gain through my studies translates into practical value in the workplace.

Looking ahead, completing this HNC is an important step toward my long-term goals. After this, I plan to progress to the HND and eventually earn a full undergraduate degree - all at The London College. My ultimate ambition is to become a Project Manager, and I believe The London College provides the ideal environment and support to help me achieve that goal.
