Training the Next Generation of Game Developers

31 March 2026

The London College is proud to announce the launch of two new specialist courses in game development, aimed at preparing students for careers in one of the UK’s fastest-growing creative industries.

The new Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Game Development will provide a foundational, one-year programme introducing students to the core principles of game design, programming and digital production. Typically, HNC courses are designed to give learners practical, hands-on experience using industry tools while building essential technical and creative skills needed for entry-level roles or further study.

Alongside this, the College is launching a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Game Development, a more advanced qualification that builds on the HNC and focuses on complex game mechanics, collaborative projects and professional portfolio development. Students will gain deeper expertise in areas such as 3D modelling, level design and software development, while working on large-scale, industry-style projects.

The dual launch reflects growing demand for skilled professionals in the global gaming sector, which continues to expand rapidly across entertainment, technology and education.

The courses are designed with progression in mind, enabling students to move into employment or advance to university-level study. The programmes aim to equip graduates with both the technical knowledge and creative problem-solving skills required in today’s competitive digital economy.
